Reef Rescue
Description:
Reef Rescue is a 2D pixel art side-view game. You can walk on land and swim in water. The goal is to clean up the reef by picking up trash, reporting fishing boats, and saving bleached coral. There are NPCs that can help you save the reef. You can sell trash and buy upgrades from the fisherman, report boats to the police, and get cooling algae from a marine biologist. Unfortunately, the reef is always getting worse. More fishing boats come, trash keeps getting dumped and the coral keeps bleaching, but if you keep at it and fix the reef up fully you win.
This is a game made for the Games For Change (G4C) game making competition, specifically the student challenge: https://learn.gamesforchange.org/student-challenge.

The game is kind of difficult to understand a first (a least for me), however I like the concept you use I think it is very original and it's like a calming game. You should add a skip button for the presentation and the tutorial since you have to watch it again if you lose and want to play again.
Thanks for the feedback! I thought adding a skip button would be a good idea, but the competition I was participating in ran out of time. This was also my first time designing an and finishing a full game and I agree it’s a bit complicated to understand.
